History
Since 1930, City Underwriting Agency has been providing expert risk management services and high quality insurance products to companies throughout the Tri-State region.
During the firm’s early years, CUA primarily focused on the construction industry, providing coverage for major projects such as Shea Stadium and the 1964 World’s Fair in New York.
In 2013 CUA joined partnership with Acrisure, one of the top ten global insurance brokers. Specializing in high-impact solutions through the use of information technology, online services and a global network of agency partners, we have comprehensive access to leading insurance markets, and asset protection solutions. This unique partnership makes us an attractive home for clients seeking high levels of service.
What We Do
Headquartered in Lake Success, New York, we provide a full range of broker/consulting and risk management services. These include Property and Casualty, Employee Benefits, Surety and Bonding and Personal Lines. We employ highly specialized and professional consultants who manage premium volume of over $160 million locally and $11 billion through our partnership with Acrisure.
While insurance is the most conventional approach to risk management, there are alternative strategies, such as self-funding, data analysis, and loss control & safety programs.
